Description

The Gustavsfors area is beautifully situated along the Helge river, south of Pjätteryd and has a five kilometer long cultural and hiking trail. The trail is marked and winds its way through beautiful nature. There are several seats and tables suitable for a picnic. The rippling water is constantly present.

Here are old ruins from the 18th and 19th centuries with information signs about the small industries that once existed in the area. Today, Gustavsfors is internationally known for its fishing. Gustavsfors fishery conservation area, which was formed in 1978, invested in precious fish and is today very popular for anglers from near and far. Fishing licenses can be purchased at ifiske.se.

Gustavsfors is also a so-called fairytale place. Here is a story cabinet where you can both read and listen to the story of the trolls of Gåaryd.

Gustavsfors is also the end of the canoe trail Helge å. The adventurous can start their paddling in Virestad or Ryssby to finally get here the water way.

This path with its facilities has been implemented in a collaboration between Pjätterydss hembygdsförening, Älmhults municipality, Helge å Model Forest and IKEA and the landowner with support from the County Administrative Board's funds for local nature conservation initiatives, "LONA".
