1. Studenternas IP sports ground – Sunnersta, 11.5 kilometres

Suitable for: Those who want an easily accessible stretch, perhaps on their first hike on the Upplandsleden Trail, or those wanting to be able to use public transport to get to and from the trail.

Distance: 11.5 kilometres Start: Studenternas IP sports ground End: Sunnersta green space Facilities: Barbecue spots at Kronåsen, Lyssnaängsbadet, Sunnerstabadet, and at the Sunnerstaåsen green space. Café, skiing slope, rental, toilet, etc. at the green space Water: From a tap at the Lyssnaängen swimming spot, from May to August Terrain: Uneven forest paths, accessible ground, gravel forest paths Nature type: Mixed forests, pine forests, pastures, lake banks

Imagine hiking over ten kilometres through varied nature, and still not leaving the city! This stretch follows "The Yellow path" from Studenternas IP sports ground in central Uppsala to Sunnersta, by the shore of Lake Mälaren. You’ll hike atop the Uppsalaåsen Ridge, between pine tree trunks, across pastures, and through a lush ravine.

Find it: The hike begins in central Uppsala.

By car: Studenternas IP sports ground is located between Akademiska Sjukhuset Hospital and the River Fyrisån. There is parking along Ulleråkersvägen. The stretch starts by the ridge at the junction of Ulleråkersvägen and Sjukhusvägen.

By bus: The bus stop closest to the start is called Akademiska Sjukhuset. At the end, there is the Sunnerstabacken bus stop.
