Description
Cross the alvar via the old railway bank between Kastlösa, Skärlöv, via Stenåsa and across to Resmo. Don't forget to keep an eye on the road as you are struck by the mighty expanse of the alvar. Between the route Mörbylånga - Kastlösa you cycle through the fertile Mörbylånga valley landscape and the scents of rape, onions and strawberries each other. On the eastern side you pass the picturesque row village of Skärlöv, Hulterstad and Triberga and halfway between Stenåsa and Resmo lies Möckelmossen, the largest lake in the Great Alvar, rich in bird life. The tour passes through the agricultural landscape of southern Öland, which was in 2000 announced as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO
Tips:
In addition to enjoying the beautiful and unique Alvary, you can also experience also a rich cultural life with many shops and studios that are well worth a visit. In Mörbylånga you will find Café Söderbönor. Perfect for a coffee break, just one kilometre outside the roundabout. There is also the opportunity to rent a bike through Ölands Cykeluthyrning.
