Description

Ängsö has a rich flora and fauna. The island is flat, with a network of marked trails that invite you to hike across the island at a leisurely pace. Experience Ängsö's beautiful agricultural landscape with meadows of flowering orchids, pollarded trees and beautiful bays. Stick to the paths to protect the wildflowers. Keep in mind that there are cows grazing on the island; be sure to give them some space. Dogs must be kept on a leash.

Sometimes the ground can be wet, but narrow raised wooden planks will take you over the wettest parts. In summer, when the ground is dry, you can even push prams with knobby tires on some of the paths. People with wheelchairs should go ashore at Hemudden. From there, it's possible to explore a part of the island by wheelchair. Contact Waxholmsbolaget about which boat to take, as not all ferries can accommodate wheelchairs.

In the summertime there are guided tours of the island. Buy tickets on the Waxholm ferry.
