Description

Welcome to a vital natural area and a living piece of our cultural heritage! The Storängen nature reserve is a scenic agricultural landscape with a traditionally managed meadow, surrounded by pastures with large, old oaks. This meadow has a 300 year old history of haymaking and a range of specially adapted flowering plants and insects thrive here. At the meadow, you'll discover a rich floral splendour in the spring and summer, as well as a variety of butterflies, bees and bumblebees. Meadow saxifrage, brown knapweed, cowslip and common milkwort are just a few of the wildflower species found here.

Section 10 of the Roslagsleden trail passes through the reserve, between Gåsvik and Sandviken. A picnic area with a picnic table is located near the parking lot.
