Borsö is a 'Natura 2000 area'. The narrow gravel road out to Borsö stretches across a meandering beach. Right where it begins, Sörmlandsleden passes through it. Out on the island you follow the road to the right, and after just a few meters you turn left into the nature area. You enter through a gate with an electric fence. The whole of Borsö is elevated with cows grazing and old trees. The path passes through mixed forests with hazelnut and deciduous trees like beech and the unusual Douglas fir, originally from North America, where the next to redwood is considered the tallest tree in the world.
