Description

In the middle of the forest are three perfect rock walls, with sport, trad and bouldering routes. They are well hidden and offer great views. The bolts on certain routes are used at the climber’s own risk.

Enskällaboberg is one of the highest viewpoints in the western part of Värnamo Municipality. It used to be called ‘Pingstaberg’ (Whitsun Mountain), as people traditionally gathered there for Whitsun. A cave-like room has been created under a large glacial erratic. The cave is associated with the legends of the giant Enskälle, who is said to have thrown many boulders in Bredaryd from Enskällaboberg. The giant Enskälle lived on the mountain and was angry with the church in Bredaryd. Luckily, the boulders missed the church and landed in forests and meadows instead.

It is a beautiful place for an excursion. Bring a picnic and sit at the top of the cliffs and enjoy the view!

Take care of nature and take any rubbish home with you when you visit.
