Description

Rusarebo meadow is located on the eastern side of Lake Hindsen. The open hay meadows and deciduous forest extend from the lake and up the hillsides. There are plenty of birds and flowers, including the early-purple orchid, which flowers in May and June.

The reserve has a barbecue area, composting toilets and several footpaths along the lake and in the reserve. From north to south it is about 1.5 km. If you follow the path from the south, from the small car park at Tagels Gård, you will first enter a dense and beautiful beech forest.

In the southern part of the reserve you will find the ‘Church’, an area with rock slope landslides and cave formations. Further north, the beech forest turns into meadows with rich flowers. The actual deciduous meadows begin at the cottage owned by Voxtorp’s local homestead association. At the cottage there is a basic barbecue area that can be used.

The meadows extend northwards to the place where the old farm was located. Here stands a mighty, previously lopped elm with a circumference of about 5.5 metres. The nature reserve’s car park and toilet can be found in the north-eastern part of the reserve, east of the meadow.
