Beschreibung

If you’re in Aktse, the Skierfe cliff is a must. You will walk by Aktsekallio (nine stones) on the way up to Skierfe. The stones are an ancient and sacred place of sacrifice and it is said that nine bears have been killed here. With its almost 700 metres of vertical descent, the view from Skierfe over the Rapa River delta, Lake Laitaure and in to Sarek is magnificent.

The easiest way to visit STF Aktse is to take the road up from Tjåmotis to the Sito River bridge. From there, walk about ten kilometres along a forest road to the boat landing at the east end of Laitaure. The other way into Aktse is along Kungsleden, which passes right over Lake Laitaure. During the summer, a daily water taxi is available. Those who wish to give their arm muscles a workout can row, but bear in mind that the lake is big and very vulnerable to weather.

This is how it works in a mountain cabin
Our mountain cabins offer a simple and authentic stay in multi-bedded rooms with self catering. The rooms are different sizes with bunk beds and usually heated by gas stoves. On site you will be greeted by a cabin manager. As a guest you chop wood, fetch water from the stream or lake, wash up and clean up after youself.

Anleitung

STF Aktse is the second cabin on the Kungsleden trail between Kvikkjokk and Saltoluokta, whether you start from Kvikkjokk or Saltoluokta. The distance is about 40 km from Kvikkjokk and about 33 km from Saltoluokta. Distances will vary depending on the season, as the summer and winter trails deviate slightly. On the way to Aktse there is accommodation available at STF Pårte, which is about 24 kilometers south, and at STF Sitojaure, about 13 km north of Aktse. To reach to Aktse by the Kungsleden trail in summer, you must go by boat regardless of whether you approach from the north or the south.

In summer, you can also get to Aktse via the Sitoälvsbron bridge. Aktse is then about a 16 km hike away. The hike can be shortened to around 10 km by booking a boat shuttle at Laitaure. To get to Sitoälvsbron you need to take your own vehicle or a taxi. Follow the road from Jokkmokk and Kvikkjokk to Tjåmåtis, then you take the exit towards Seitevare power plant. Continue past the power plant until you reach the end of the road at the Sitoälvsbron bridge, then follow the cycle path to Laitaure. From there, follow the marked trail to Aktse. Alternatively, you can book a boat from the end of the cycle path.

The distance from Tjåmåtis to Sitoälvsbron is about 20 km. Do note that the road between Seitevare power plant and Sitoälvsbron is only open in summer.
