Welcome to the Oxön nature reserve in Norrtälje municipality! Here, you can explore a beautiful forest with orchids and species that are specially adapted to limestone-rich soils.
The northern part of the reserve encompasses an old spruce forest with some deciduous trees and old towering pines. The southern part of the reserve consists of a rocky hill with deciduous forest. Here, you can find ancient oaks and old aspens surrounded by hazel trees. These old trees are home to many fungi and insect species, as well as birds that nest in holes in the trees.
There are no facilities for visitors in the reserve.

Anleitung
The nature reserve is located 10 km north of Norrtälje and 3 km east of Lake Erken, right next to the Stensta gård farm.
The nearest bus stop is Karls kyrkoruin (on road 76), approx 2 km walk from the nature reserve along smaller roads. For current timetables and information visit SL -Storstockholms lokaltrafik.
By car: The nature reserve is most easily reached by car from Route 76, by turning east towards Stensta gård farm.
In the future, a small visitor parking lot will be built next to Stensta gård farm. Motor vehicles are forbidden south of this area.
Verordnungen
In order to protect the Oxön nature reserve, please respect the following rules.
Within the reserve, it is forbidden to:
- dig, cut, drill or in any other way damage rock, soil or stone,
- fell or damage living or dead trees or bushes,
- damage vegetation by digging up plants,
- operate motorised vehicles.
