Cykeltur Ramstigen Arboga

English Park

From Västerbron on the outskirts of Arboga, the Ramstigen runs along the Arbogaån. Just outside Arboga, you pass Engelska parken on the right. There is no sign here, but if you are attentive enough to see the park, it is well worth a stop. Park the bike for a while and walk the charming loop through the beech forest along the water.

Jädersbruk

The cycle ride continues a short distance along Fellingsbrovägen before turning off towards Jädersholme. There is a lot to see and do here, so park the bike for a while and look around the historic working environment. Jädersbruk dates back to the 16th century, when Gustav Vasa founded the Arboga weapons factory here. In Jädersholme, you first come to the ceramic couple Kerstin Hörnlund and Gösta Grähs, who have both a ceramics workshop and a sculpture park in their garden in Jädersholme. If they are at home, they stay open. Jädersbruk's museum is another attraction in the beautiful area. The museum has exhibitions both outdoors and indoors. The indoor exhibitions are only shown by advance booking. When you want to cycle further, you go back out to Ramstigen and continue your ride west.

Kalkugnsberget nature reserve

After a little while there is a chance for another stop. At the Kalkugnsberget nature reserve, you can park your bike and take a walk up to Gålsjön. There is a unique bird life here and the bird tower on site gives you the opportunity to look out over the surroundings.

Röfors

Back in the saddle, you soon cross the E18 and cycle on towards Röfors. In Röforsbacken, it goes sharply downhill and we take the opportunity to rest legs that are a little tired from all the trampling. Want to see wildlife? Just after the bridge over the river at Röfors, you have the chance, because there is a deer fence here.

Jädersbruks herrgård and sculpture park

The tour turns back towards Arboga and you drive a short distance on the slightly larger county road. Turn off at the sign for Jädersbruks Herrgård, a manor. There is a shop with organic food here and in the summer you can buy home-grown vegetables here. You then continue the cycle ride along the railway. Don't miss the sculpture park, where Swedish and international artists have created peace sculptures from military equipment.

Now only a short transport distance to Arboga remains.
