Description

Bolmen's surface area of 185 km2 makes it the tenth largest lake in Sweden. It lies between Småland and Halland, bordered by dense, silent forests. The nearest town is Ljungby, located by motorway E4 only 20 km from the lake. The lake is situated at an elevation of 140 m above sea level and has 300 islands. The largest is Bolmsö, which is linked with the mainland via a bridge in one direction and in the other direction via a ferry (free of charge).

Bolmen has 24 fish species, and with its countless islands and inlets that lend themselves to fishing, it has become a popular fishing lake. There is an abundance of pike, pike-perch and perch in these waters, and with a little luck you can even pull up a salmon or salmon trout. In Bolmen there are plenty of predator fish and an especially strong strain of pike, pike-perch and perch, and there are also large specimens of all three. (Source: Wikipedia)

For sport fishermen the most common species are pike, pike-perch and perch, but burbot, eel, tench and salmon trout also can be caught in the lake.

Getting here is easy! Bolmen is located next to motorway E4 and route 25. These are the roads by which you can most easily reach the lake: E4 Helsingborg- Stockholm, route 25 Halmstad -Ljungby and route 26 Halmstad-Jönköping.
