Description
Bruno Mathsson was a carpenter’s son who became a world-renowned furniture designer. His breakthrough came in 1936, and already the following year he was represented at the Paris World Fair, which gave him international fame. Bruno Mathsson also worked as an architect.
The Bruno Mathsson Centre houses an exhibition about Mathsson’s furniture designs and is open to the public. The centre also includes the wooden villa which was Mathsson’s parental home. The glass exhibition hall was designed and built by Bruno Mathsson in 1950.

Facts
This sign is part of the town history walk “Pinnapå”. The whole route is around 5 km and includes 12 signs. Pinnapå is part of “Värnamo – Tales of Our Town”, a historical exhibition in the cultural centre Gummifabriken, housed in Värnamo’s ancient rubber factory.
The signs are designed by Gro Knutsen and are inspired by spindle-back chairs (pinnstolar), a famous cultural heritage from Värnamo. (Hence the name Pinnapå, which means to walk on at a steady pace.)
