Description

Gällaryd Parish Church was built as a hall church in Gustavian style. The nave of the church was built in 1782–1789. The current church was built about 50 metres north of the medieval wooden church that previously stood on the site. The church was built in an east-west direction with a sanctuary to the east and a steeple with a main entrance to the west. The church is built of stone and consists of a rectangular nave and a semi-circular sanctuary. The vestry was built on the north side of the nave in close proximity to the sanctuary. The steeple was erected to the west. The church has a gabled roof and the top of the steeple is covered with slate. There is an open lantern, a small steeple crowned with a cross, at the top of the steeple. The façades are smooth plastered and whitewashed.

The interior of the church has largely been restored in neoclassical style in a uniform colour scheme in blue shades. The interior is dominated by a wooden barrel vault and includes a pulpit from 1792.
