Description
The stage passes some of Småland's most spectacular nature experiences. The start is at Skurugata, an 800 meter long fault crack where the width varies between 7-24 meters and the walls rise up to 35 meters. Skurugata and the viewpoint Skuruhatt (337 m above sea level) offer dramatic nature, unique flora and fantastic views. There are barbecue areas, windbreaks and adapted paths for the disabled.
The hike continues past Hässleåsa dam, a beautiful rift valley with rock walls and rippling streams, where the flora is reminiscent of colder climates. Note that the trail has been re-routed before Hässleåsa farm, follow the markings on site.
The trail also passes the Klinten nature reserve, with older coniferous forest, clear water lake Försjön and Klintabergets viewpoint. Here you will encounter a rich flora and fauna typical of the wilderness that inspired Albert Engström.
The stage ends at Valbacken in Ingatorp after passing Stuverydsbäcken, also known as Skrôle Hie - a dramatic gorge with an unaffected watercourse, boulders, old-growth forest and a viable trout population. The terrain is hilly and the nature values are very high along the entire stretch.
