Description

Lake Kassasjön is an idyll in the Småland forest where you’ll find wonderful tranquillity and a chance to enjoy the beautiful nature. Kassasjön is 790 metres long and 370 metres wide and there is a nice path that winds its way around the entire lake. For those who like to barbecue, there are two large barbecue areas with wind shelter/roof and another four smaller barbecue areas. There are a total of 22 jetties around the lake.

Opening times:

You can hike all year round, but at some times during the year a barrier is lowered across the road so you can’t park right up by the lake.

Fish in Lake Kassasjön:

Kassasjön is a put-and-take fishing lake. Fishing is allowed at some times during the year and you can buy a fishing permit via the website/app iFiske. The fish species available are salmon trout and rainbow trout.

Directions

From Värnamo, take Sörsjövägen out of town. Pass Sörsjö equestrian centre and keep right after the railway. Follow the road, pass Vallerstad farm and a couple of burial grounds. Kassasjön (Lake Kassen) is on the left side of the road. There is a small sign at the side of the road.
