Artwork: Polygon (Bench in ‘Bänkarnas stad’)

‘Polygon’ is the first bench in the City of Benches project. It was donated by Värnamo Företagareförening and designed by the architect Johnny Grauengaard, who wants the bench to be inclusive, create curiosity and emphasise the experience of River Lagan.

The bench is located about 300 metres north of Osudden’s swimming area on the west side of River Lagan. ‘Polygon’ is a multi-purpose, three-sided piece in cast concrete, stainless steel and untreated oak. It is 2.6 metres high, 85 centimetres deep and weighs a total of 15 tonnes! The inauguration of ‘Polygon’ took place in May 2017.
