Description

Runestone from the Viking Age. Runstensholm, Tånnö. The runestone consists of gneiss and dates from the 11th century. The runestone is 1.4 metres high and 0.6 and 0.3-0.5 meters wide. The runestone stands in what is probably its original location by the roadside. Already during the ransacking activities in 1667, the churchmen, on the King’s command, are given the location of the stone. The inscription on the runestone translates as: “Gudvar had this stone erected for Öde, his son, and Karl after Sten, his son. God help their soul.”
