Description

Stjärneborg was built by Malte Liewen Stierngranat in the first half of the 20th century. He was an unusually enterprising person, also known as "the man who did whatever came into his head".
There are many stories about Stierngranat, including how Stjärneborg got its own railway station. He was allowed by SJ to build a station, but take responsibility for it himself. When the trains didn't stop anyway, he pulled the emergency brake and willingly paid the fine. Pretty soon SJ realized that Stjärneborg had to become an official train stop.
The station was demolished sometime around the 1960s, but they later changed their minds and brought a railway guard's cabin from Håknarp in Nässjö municipality. A railway museum was set up in the cottage.
Stierngranat traveled a lot and collected things from different parts of the world. Much of this is on display in the museum opposite the railway guard's cottage.
At Stjärnebord there is also a rest area with table groups and a toilet.
