The site was used as a burial ground during the Late Iron Age (500-1050 AD). The dead were burned at the stake along with some grave goods. The gifts could be clothes, jewellery, tools and weapons. There are also examples of bringing a dog or some other animal into the grave. The grave was then built on top of the remains of the funeral pyre. NOTE! Respect the private land next door.
