Braås Park Nature Reserve

The summer scenes in Braås Park are reminiscent of some lush, southern European views. Oaks, elms and hazel follow grazing meadows with fritillaries and common blue butterflies. The songs of redstarts, spotted flycatchers and wood warblers are almost always present. Pasqueflower, cowslips, mountain arnica and cat's foot form part of the flora. Humans and history have together formed the nature of this area, from the fields of the 17th century and the English gardens of the 19th century, to today's pleasant mix of diverse landscaping. The Ice Age, too, has left its mark in features like the Braås boulder ridge. Along the shoes of Lank Örken, there are red-breasted mergansers, ospreys and sandpipers.
