Description

The church was probably built in the 13th century and has undergone few changes since then. During the 17th century, the current wooden sacristy was built on the northeastern side, while a wooden porch was erected in 1683 on the southwestern side. In 1807, the wall between the nave and the chancel was demolished. In 1820, the nave and chancel received a common outer roof. In 1827, the porch was moved from the south side to the current entrance in the west.

The interior is of the hall church type. The flat ceiling was painted in 1767. At the same time, the drapery paintings on the walls were added. During a renovation in 1932, the chancel window and wall paintings from the 16th century were uncovered, and new pews were added with the old doors retained.

The church contains a crucifix from the 13th century and a sandstone baptismal font from the 13th century, which probably comes from the Hallsjö church ruins.
