Description

In the Teleborg nature reserve you'll get that relaxed, country feeling. Listen to the warbling of the skylark, and watch the horses graze, all against a background of the Växjö cityscape replete with its cathedral. In the meadow and field areas, you'll find cowslips, milkwort and mountain arnica. Common whitethroats and snipes are part of the chorus. In the autumn, hazel thickets attract the spotted nutcracker. Gold-powdered spike lichens, sooty lichens and antitrichia moss grow on old oaks. The nearby Teleborg water tower gives you a mighty echo. Many lovely strolling paths pass the nature reserve. The red-marked path leads from the university campus towards fields, leafy groves and flowering pastures. The yellow trail starts at the beautiful 19th century Knutsgård farmstead and follows in a figure eight between pastures and leafy forests. From Teleborg castle, you can see the blue trail, which continues through lakeside woods and the bird-watching tower, along Skirviken inlet. The Växjö Runt (Round Växjö) bicycle route passes through the nature reserve. See the link below for more information about the nature reserve.
