A Canoe Adventure Awaits

Experience nature by gliding on the water with a canoe. The tours are suitable for one to several days of canoe adventures, and there are many campsites that offer you the opportunity to relax and rest. Here you can camp and prepare the evening meal over a fire.

Lagaleden

Lagaleden extends 150 km from Lake Bolmen through Bolmån and the Lagan river all the way out to the Kattegat. Paddle across large lakes with many islands that offer lovely spots for breaks, along narrow rivers, and past mighty power plants. You can choose to start and stop wherever you want and make day trips, or go on a real adventure and paddle the entire distance out to the sea.

Helge å

Helge å is a waterway for paddling through both lake and river. It stretches 109 kilometers through Ljungby and Älmhult municipalities. You paddle along small villages, wide rivers, and large lakes full of birdlife. A suitable starting point is the northern shore of Ryssbysjön. It is possible to paddle both downstream and upstream, with the most common destination being Gustavsfors because the river thereafter becomes rocky and rapid.

Stay at the canoe campsites

There are canoe campsites along the trail that usually provide outhouses, firewood, and trash bins for canoeists who want to stay overnight during their paddling. We only refer to these as suitable for overnight stays, and it all works with the help of canoe checks. For Lagaleden, you can buy these at Ifiske, and for Helge in Älmhult’s tourist information as well as from the canoe renters.

Helge å

A canoe check costs 100 SEK and is valid for one canoe for one night (i.e., two adults). Såganäs nature camping offers more services than other rest stops and costs 200 SEK/canoe and night.

Lagaleden

If you are going to stay overnight at one of the campsites, you pay a fee via iFiske.se. The price for an overnight stay is 40 SEK/person over 12 years old.
