Here you find both pine forests and tall-growth spruce forests where rare species which the poroid fungus perenniporia subacida is king. In the middle of the reserve lies Långmyran. Kallkällbäcken stream runs through it on its way out into the Lule river. The area is of geological interest, with minerals such as greenstone, greywacke and gabbro.
