The reserve consists largely of the slopes of Norr-Björkberget and the small lake Krokträsktjärnen. Around the lake lies a wetland which was previously used for marsh haymaking. The remains of an old hay barn are still standing near the lake. The area is 1 square kilometre in size.

Norr-Björkberget is situated in the northern part of Boden Municipality, about 22 kilometres northwest of Bodträskfors and 6 kilometres southeast of Lakaträsk. The reserve can be reached from several directions. Two roads run between Lakaträsk and Gullträsk, the longer of which passes along eastern edge of the reserve, near the lake.
