Description

Riekkola-Välivaara is a popular recreational area close to Haparanda town. Many people make their way here from Haparanda for exercise and outdoor life, and to enjoy nature and birdsong. In the middle of the reserve there is a car park and a stopover cabin. If you follow the nature trail or the illuminated track eastwards you come to a birdwatching tower. Here you have a view of both Ebonsviken and the wetland. If you follow the trail and the track heading westwards you come to a hearth in the middle of the forest. The area is 1 square kilometre in size.
