Description

Rikti-Dockas is an old settlement from 1847 and was built by the Sami man Pher Persson Riktig. It was passed down through the generations until 1958, when it stopped being used as a permanent residence. Today Rikti-Dockas is a cultural heritage site and a very popular place to visit. Here you will find three dwelling houses, barns, a baking hut, a cellar for storing milk, a sauna, a wooden storehouse, a hay barn, and much more.

Directions

From Överkalix you drive north on the road E10 towards Lansjärv. Ahead of Lansjärv you turn left to road 813. You'll pass Flakaberg and Vouttas. At the intersection to "Granhammarbergsvägen" you turn left and continue on the road until you reach the intersection "Rikti-vägen". Turn left and follow the signs to Rikti-Dockas.

NB! There are gravel road in a various condition which can be very bad due to season of the year and weather.
