Description
On the south slope of the mountain, the ground is dry and rocky. The pine forest has grown after a fire in the 19th century. There are also many aspen trees here. On fallen, dead pine trunks strives the rare longhorn beetle tragosoma depsarium. On the east side of the mountain, the forest is more virgin with 30 metre spruce and land rich in herbaceous plants. The whole area is 0.8 square kilometres in size.

The nature reserve lies about five kilometres north of Niemisel, in Boden Municipality. Logging roads pass close to the northern and southern limits. Arriving from the south you need to walk 500 metres from the road as far as the nature reserve.
