Description

The Nordkalott Trail runs along the shore of Sårjusjaure, and at the other end of the lake lies the Norwegian Trekking Association's Sorjushytte. Fishing, simple summit hikes, and total relaxation of a near-meditative nature are words that aptly describe your stay here. The Sårjusstugan also serves well as a base point for tours in the area, to borrow Dag Hammarskjöld's words from his book "From Sarek to Haväng."

About STF Sårjåsjaure
Konsul Persson's cabin is always open but is unmanned. There is propane for cooking. The cabin is equipped with household utensils for self-catering. The beds are short but charmingly original from the cabin's early days. The daughter of the industrialist and consul Nils Persson fell in love with the area in 1892 during her father's stationing in Sulitelma. One of her adventurous deeds was contributing to STF establishing a cabin on the site. Therefore, one of the cabin's names is "Konsul Persson's cabin.
