Description

Bondebacka, in the heart of Motala, is one of the city's most frequently used green areas. The open fields around the radio station are surrounded by vivid forest areas dominated by oaks and hazel trees. In the spring, before oaks and hazel trees steal all the light, the ground is covered with wood anemones. Old ash trees with silver-gray trunks frames in the driveway to the radio station.

At Bondebacka, there are trails with lighting that are looked after in winter as well. The whole forest is crossed by small paths that are fun for the children to discover. In the area there is also a disc golf course (Freesbee golf). At the preschool in the parking lot of the radio museum there is a tree path for children, with facts about various trees along the path.

At each entrance to the area, there is a sign about Bondebacka with the entire path system and outdoor facilities pointed out.

Bondebacka farm was partly used until the 1970s. Today, Bondebacka functions as an association farm. Here is, among other things, a small herb garden. The open areas are today managed with meadow mowing to benefit vascular plants and the insects that depend on these sources of nectar. Here you can see many butterflies and bees, several of which are red-listed and last but not least, you can see one of Motala's responsible species, the rattle grasshopper (Psophus stridulus) with its carmine-colored wings.
