Description

Häckeberga – Husarahagen is one of three areas within the Häckeberga Nature Conservation Area that has been made into a nature reserve. In Husarahagen you walk through a 300 year old beech woodland – the oldest beech woodland in the Häckeberga area. Section 15A of the Skåneleden Trail, Sturup – Dörröd passes along the northern border of the Reserve.

The area consists of old beech woodland with a good population of bats and is a popular destination for fungi enthusiasts.

Carl von Linnaeus wrote about Husarahagen when he visited the Häckeberga estate, to which the area belongs, in the summer of 1749: "Nature itself has created a masterpiece on this farm, which an artist could never have improved on”.
