Description

Since 1883, Smygehuk Lighthouse has been a much-needed landmark on the rugged coast around Smygehuk and Beddinge in Skåne. Even today, it winks happily at passing ships and the view from the tower is absolutely magnificent.

With its history, Smygehuk Lighthouse is of course a destination in itself, and at the same time a place that breathes calm. Here you can feel like one of the historic lighthouse keepers when you stay over in the former lighthouse keeper's residence or Vedboden. All rooms are unique and with slightly different concepts, choose the one that suits you best. In Fyrvaktarbostaden there is also a small shared kitchen free to use. During the summer, the lighthouse's other houses are opened up, and on certain days you can have coffee in the Mistlurshuset and have dinner in the intimate small restaurant Red Sails Restaurant. From the morning's freshly baked breakfast bread to home-baked coffee and dinners, food and drink are guaranteed to be part of the experience. The lighthouse is connected by a large leafy garden with apple trees, seating for relaxation and areas for play. The fresh sea breeze reminds you all year round that you are here on Sweden's southernmost cape. Smygehuk Lighthouse is open and worth visiting all year round. Experiencing a change of weather, an autumn storm or a clear winter day from the lighthouse is something very special. This is also an extra dog-friendly accommodation where your companion is welcome.

Right next to Smygehuk Lighthouse is Smygehamn, a picturesque old fishing port with nice swimming, and all the experiences of Söderslätt and the South Coast await a short distance away. From more salty baths and magical sandy beaches to beautiful bike paths and historical sites. Charming towns such as Ystad and Trelleborg are also located a short distance away and there is good access to public transport.

The business is run with passion and heart by married couple Joanna and Mick Daly. Joanna is a trained chef and sommelier and Mick is the Australian with a twinkle in his eye. Constant companion Sheldon is the kindest soul and loves bran on his belly. Their mission is for every guest to feel like part of the family and to bring home great memories. It should simply feel homely, personal and comfortable.

Welcome!
