In december 2009 the first municipal nature reserv was established in Trosa municipality – the Tomtaklintforest nature reserve – a forest area close to the town with marked hiking trails and a diversity of wild plants and animals. Well worth a visist!

Tomtaklintforest consist, among other things, of lime-confier forest that has been without active forestry for a long time, which has allowed the forest to develop high natural values. The nature is varied with healthy coniferous forests, wet areas, steeps and drier mountain slopes. Fallen trees and tall stumps form important prerequisites for the forests enviorment. Species you can come across include, golden saxifrage, baneberry, hepatica, moose, fallow deer and several woodpecker species.
