Description
Welcome to the Arsläjan nature reserve, a gem of the Norrtälje archipelago! Here, you will find beautiful swimming beaches. If you'd like to stay over night, you may camp on the narrow strip of land connecting to Stora Änklingen. Follow the path to the southern part of the reserve to get to a picnic area with a fire pit where you can cook a meal.
Despite its small size, the reserve contains a wide variety of natural areas. On the northern part of the peninsula, there is an old pristine forest with 300 year-old crooked pine trees. The strip connecting to Stora Änklingen in the south is characterised by a typical coastal meadow flora.

Directions
The Arsläjan nature reserve is located north of Stora Änklingen on the island Björkö, Väddö, about 3 km north-west of Simpnäs and 24 km north-east of Norrtälje. There are no designated parking lots for visitors.
The best way to get here is by private boat.
By public transit: Take bus 636 towards Björkö and get off at the Simpnäs lanthandel bus stop. It's a 2.5 km walk from the bus stop to the reserve. For current information on public transit, see: SL.se
Regulations
In order to protect the Arsläjan nature reserve, please respect the following rules.
Within the reserve, it is forbidden to:
- destroy or damage rock, soil or stone by drilling, cutting, blasting, carving, digging, painting or similar,
- break branches, fell or in any other way damage living or dead trees and bushes, or damage the vegetation in general by digging up plants, such as shrubs, herbaceous plants, mosses, lichens or remove fungi growing on wood,
- disturb wildlife (e.g. by climbing nesting trees, trapping or killing mammals, birds, reptiles or amphibians),
- trap and collect invertebrates,
- bring dogs that are not on a leash,
- camp for more than two consecutive nights,
- make a fire outside of designated sites,
- put up a message board, placard, poster, sign or make inscriptions,
- operate motorised vehicles.
