Actions

Currently

The County Administrative Board advises visitors against entering the nature reserve. Trees in this nature reserve have been affected by spruce bark beetles. Dead trees can fall suddenly and without warning. Due to the risk of accidents, the trail is closed until further notice and will not be maintained.

Description

The reserve encompasses old mixed forest with high biodiversity and brown trout spawn in the tributaries of the Kagghamraån river.

Within the reserve, there is a steep ravine that perfectly demonstrates how a typical ravine is formed. The V-shaped incision in the landscape makes it easy to visualise how the creek slowly eroded away the bedrock to form the ravine. This is most clearly visible from Tegelvreten, but it's almost impossible to get down into the ravine. The largest natural waterfall in Botkyrka municipality can be found here and the bridge over the waterfall offers an excellent view into the ravine.
