Description
Rågskärsslingan is a circular trail that takes you around the Island, through a varied and scenic landscape.
If you look closely, you’ll notice how the surroundings have been shaped by traditional haymaking, grazing, and forestry over centuries.
Near the old croft, an information sign tells the story of the island’s natural environment and the people who once lived and worked here. This is an excellent starting point for your walk.
In the southwest, a short detour leads out to the headland, where you’ll find a pleasant rest area with beautiful views. In the water below, you can spot bridge foundations—the remains of Pott’s Bridges, built in the early 1900s.
Sheep and cattle graze freely on the island outside the croft’s fence. You are welcome to pet the animals if they choose to approach you.
Dress according to the weather, wear sturdy footwear, and remember to bring food and water.
