Description
While hiking the Sörmlandsleden trail, you can visit the Pålamalm nature reserve. Here, you will find a kettle hole—a glacial depression formed by retreating ice sheets during the Ice Age. This one is 31 metres deep, making it the largest in Stockholm County.
Heathland with pines and heather surround the kettle and there is a pebble field to the north-east. The forest within the kettle itself is dominated by spruce.
