Even if you enjoy cycling, you may need transportation to or from the cycling trail. Many transportation companies operate to and from the areas near and around Unionsleden.

Please note that you generally cannot bring a bicycle on trains in Sweden. If you want to bring your bike with you, please choose a bus service as listed below.

Get Back to the Start with Your Bike on the Bus

Now you have the opportunity to return to the starting point of your bike trip—or take the bus part of the way toward your destination.

During the summer of 2025, Dalslands Buss operates a bus service with a bike trailer along the Unionsleden every Tuesday and Thursday. This service is perfect for those cycling on one of the nearby national bike routes.

Currently, the options for taking your bike on return transportation are limited. Here are the available options.

Värmlandstrafik Also Offers Bike Transport During the Summer

During the summer, Värmlandstrafik allows bikes on certain bus routes. However, this applies to a maximum of two bikes per bus and does not include electric bikes. You can travel between Karlstad and Töckfors on line 700.

FlixBus also operates a route between Oslo and Karlstad but only allows folding bikes.
