Quiet places - a valuable news
Images
Now there are 26 quiet places marked out on the homepage of Nature map Växjö and also tagged in the app. The goal has been to make the urban area close to nature with good sound quality more known to our residents and visitors in Växjö. Places with trails in the immediate area that are valuable for recovery, recreation or forest bathing at a slow pace. To land in the greenery, breathe more calmly and collect new energy. A good sound environment is more than just freedom from noise and an important quality for the whole experience in nature. Quiet locations in an area mean that the experience of desirable sounds strongly outweighs the impact of disturbing noise. In quiet places, at least 80% of the visitors in an area after the visit should consider that they have experienced a good sound environment lower than 45 dB (A). Here one can be surrounded by nature's own sounds; such as the waves from the lake, a breeze in the foliage or bird song. Wind strength, weather, season and time of day affect how the quiet places are experienced at the moment. Sound measurements and site visits with the noise app from the Swedish Work Environment Authority have been included in the survey of quiet places around Växjö city. In the green fact box below each location, average values are reported from the completed sound measurements. Welcome to quiet places to enjoy the tranquility with open minds.
The project has continued and now also present five large quiet areas in the countryside in the Nature map Växjö. Around Asa, east of Lake Örken, in the eastern part of the municipality, along Lake Rottnen and in the Lake Åsnen area, there are large areas of natural and cultural environments with excellent sound quality. Everyone is well worth a day trip.
