Arvokas luonto
At the far end of Tjuvanabben at the east end of the island of Tärnö you will find the mighty, hollow oak tree known as Fiskgökaeken, once an important landmark for seafarers in the area. It is said to date from the fourteenth century, making it one of the oldest oak trees in Blekinge, and it is still alive. Ensuring the preservation of oak trees as old as this is vital to biodiversity. This is why space has been cleared around it to enable it to continue to grow. It is also home to new insect hotels. The island of Tärnö offers a variety of accommodation for its human visitors too, at different price levels. There is a bistro open in the summer season and kayak, SUP, rowing boat hire, etc.
