The island of Tjärö can be reached by boat from Järnavik, Matvik or Karlshamn. The landscape is stunning, the Swedish archipelago at its best. Bask on sun-warmed rocks, explore beechwood-covered slopes, meadows and fields. All 75 hectares of the island are a nature reserve with a wide variety of flora and fauna.
Stay on Tjärö in picturesque Swedish red cottages dating from the eighteenth century. There are 13 buildings in total, with everything from single rooms to rooms sleeping five. There’s a youth hostel, a hotel or how about a simple cottage to yourself in a beautiful secluded spot with sea views? A service building and self-catering facilities are in a central location on the island and the public sauna is heated every evening.
All meals are in the new restaurant built right on the water’s edge overlooking the guest harbour. Whether you’re there for breakfast, lunch or a 3-course dinner with all the trimmings, it’s the perfect experience.
Accommodation, nature, swimming in the sea, sauna, floating sauna, fishing, music events, restaurant, café – 52 rooms, 137 beds in total – Swedish and English – Open in the summer season April to September, available for conference hire the rest of the year
