Hembygdsparken i Hovmantorp

Hovmantorp has many older buildings preserved from the past. Hembygdsföreningen took care of the park in 1958. From Kvarndammen, Fibbleå runs which is the largest addition to Lake Rottnen. Along the river there have been several sawmills, mills and small industries and more. From Gasjön in the north to Rottnen, the level difference is just over 40 m in 5 km, creating many rapids and waterfalls that could power water wheels and turbines. A little further down the river was built in 1905 Hovmantorp’s first electricity plant. In 2015, Fibbleån’s hiking trail was inaugurated, which is a cultural historical hike around Hovmantorp in the municipality of Lessebo.
