Latest sound measurement 2020-05-11: Average values between 32-40 dB (A). A little wave, light breeze in the trees, some boats in the distance. Some tips during the visit: Stay offline - turn off the phone silently and be off when visiting the forest. Value the moment - release all everyday thoughts to be present here and now. Walk slowly - slow in and walk slower than normal on the path out here. Listen - nature is almost never completely silent, and its sound often has a restful effect. Smell and feel - each forest has its own scents, which change with the season and weather. Feel the rough bark or the soft moss.

Quiet locations in an area mean that the experience of desirable sounds strongly outweighs the impact of disturbing noise. In quiet places, at least 80 % of the visitors in an area after the visit should consider that they have experienced a good sound environment lower than 45 dB (A). Here one can be surrounded by nature's own sounds; such as the waves from the lake, a breeze in the foliage or bird song. There are several quiet places around Växjö town that are marked in the nature map. The city sounds are always present, but relatively quiet places are still close by. Wind strength, weather, season and time of day affect how the quiet places are experienced in the moment.

Musön is located north of Hissö and is part of the nature reserve.

You are welcome to visit the nature reserve, but please note that it is not allowed to:

damage natural objects or surface formation, for example by digging, drilling, painting or chiseling
2. trap or otherwise damage living or dead standing or overturn fallen trees and bushes
3. pick, damage or dig up herbs, fungi, mosses, lichens or other plants other than picking single specimens of non-fridlyst species. Carrier and food fungus may be picked for house needs
collect insects, shells, worms or other invertebrates other than single copies of non-fridlyst species
5. perform or park motor vehicles or trailers other than on the designated road and prepared parking space
Park or set up caravan, camper or similar between 00.00 and 05.00.
7. fire other than the designated and prepared fireplace
8. set up painting, sign, poster, snittle, art objects or the like without the County Administrative Board’s approval
9. conduct competition, exercise or camp activities without the County Administrative Board’s approval
10. tents other than the designated and prepared tent
11 anchor or moor the houseboat
Disturbing or damaging wildlife, for example, by nearby behaviour at the place of residence or play
13 In addition to the dog bathing site, unconnected dog or other dissolving pets
In the land or water area, start or land with aircraft
take in or use waterscots (use of waterscots is permitted for sea rescue or other socially beneficial purposes)

The regulations do not prevent:

Normal maintenance and minor improvements in the road area. Trees that have fallen or rough branches that have been hijacked in maintenance must be moved within the nature reserve.
Measures for scientific investigation approved in advance by the County Administrative Board

Other legislation for what can be done in forests and land also applies in the nature reserve.
