Kuvaus

What distinguishes Persö above all are the rock outcrops with their furrows, which have been created by the ice sheet and the waves that have hit the rock for thousands of years and washed away easily weathered limestone. The bedrock here consists of limestone and what is now left is primeval limestone and skarn minerals.

The vegetation and nature are quite varied on the island. Here you will find a flora with many different species. You can also catch a glimpse of the small, endangered narrow-grain snail, which is said to have survived since the Ice Age. Until the beginning of the 20th century, animals grazed on the island, but now it consist mostly of forest and dry land. Persö is now the island of birds and has a disembarkation ban between 1/2 - 15/8.

As in many places in the archipelago of Trosa, there are cultural remains here.
