STF Lurö Vandrarhem

In the middle of Lake Vänern, furthest south in the string of beautiful islands that make up the Lurö archipelago nature reserve, lies Lurö, about an hour by boat from Värmlandsnäs to the north and Kållandsö to the south. Here the sky meets the sea in the middle of the hinterland.

The hostel is located on the old Stenstaka farm. Here you can stay in cottages or in rooms in the old lighthouse.

The Lodge has everything you need to satisfy your hunger. Prepare your own food in our well-equipped hostel kitchen or let yourself be pampered in our own archipelago tavern Lurö Krog where the chefs use local ingredients. If you prefer to dine al fresco, we have a large wooden deck outside the dining rooms, you can also borrow grills or cook your food on the grills out on the rocks. If you choose to eat in the restaurant, it is wise to pre-book during the summer, and absolutely necessary in spring and autumn.

To the west, at its private jetty, is the Mysingen sauna raft. There is a sauna, hot tub and barbecue hut. The facility is very popular and should be booked well in advance. There is a guest harbor adjacent to the hostel.

When hiking on one of the many trails, you are never far from a refreshing swim or an inviting rest area. Hiking at your own pace, letting your eyes take in the mighty Vänern inland lake and seeing the magnificent nature in one of the most sun-kissed parts of Scandinavia ensures a quality of life that more and more people are seeking these days. The tranquility on Lurö promotes both creative togetherness and peaceful solitude. Perhaps you’ll find your own strawberry field here, in the middle of an ocean of drinking water!

Accommodation
The lighthouse is a relocated Väner lighthouse with seven bedrooms and 14 beds. With the option of an extra bed in each room and a sleeping loft, the house can accommodate up to 23 people. The large living room has plenty of space for socializing and has a wood burning stove and views of Lake Väner.

Sjöboden is a small building offering cozy accommodation with eight beds and a wood burning stove. Here you sleep in bunk beds or at the sleeping loft on a mattress on the floor. A large table with benches and seating for all guests is available.

The Lovart and Vindöga cabins each have six beds in three different sleeping areas. The cottages are equipped with a simple kitchenette and a crackling wood burning stove. Each cottage has beautiful views of Lake Vänern from the small terrace.

There are laundry and shower rooms for guests in a separate building with four multi-room toilets, one of which is adapted for the disabled. There are also three showers and hot and cold water sinks.

Just like at a hostel, you do your own cleaning and bring your own sheets. You can also buy sets of disposable sheets and towels from us.

We accept individuals and groups, private or business. The facility suitable for parties, weddings and conferences.
