Sunnerboturen

This trail runs through diverse nature in Ljungby municipality, on mainly narrow roads with asphalt and some parts of the trail runs on roads with gravel. The legendary places in the Land of Legends offer a variety of different stories and fairytales, perfect for a stop along the way.

Start at the bus station in Ljungby and bike towards Kulturhuset Grand. Turn left onto Kungsgatan and follow the green signs for Sunnerboturen south, towards Kånna. South of Ljungby you will find Kånna högar, (1), one of the largest graveyards in Småland from the Viking age. Then bike towards Södra Ljunga. As you continue to Hamneda, you are going to pass several historical locations.

Follow the signs to Nöttja. You can visit the medieval church (2), which was featured in the Swedish classic “Utvandrarna”. Make sure you stop at the legendary places (3) you pass, and learn more about the stories that have taken place in the area.

Take a break in Torpa before you continue towards Vrå. From there, follow the red signs for Banvallsleden to Lidhult and back to Ljungby. Along the trail, there are also several spots where you can go swimming.
