Borghamn - Vadstena, Östgötaleden, St. Birgitta Ways

Follow the trail from Borghamn to the medieval pilgrimage town of Vadstena. The hike runs along a low-traffic rural road, mostly asphalt, but through charming church villages. The stage offers views of the plain, Omberg, and Lake Vättern. Several swimming spots are located near the trail. Explore attractions such as a stone museum, stone quarry, and Iron Age remains along the quiet countryside road. Visit churches from the 12th century and sites associated with Saint Bridget.

In Vadstena, you’ll find various types of accommodations, restaurants, cafés, and grocery stores.

At the Pilgrim Center, you can settle in, get your final stamp, receive a certificate of completion, and discuss your hiking experience. There are also options for coffee, overnight stays, and breakfast.
