A historical walk that takes you through several nature reserves, follows the Mörrumsån from its outlet in the Baltic Sea, all the way up to Småland's border. Mörrumsån is Blekinge's largest watercourse and one of Sweden's most species-rich watercourses with the unusual freshwater mussel and 25 of 52 freshwater fish species. Mörrumsån is most famous for its salmon population, which you can see jumping out of the water during the late summer.
Laxaleden's trail markings are poles with light blue tops.
You can start the hike in Elleholm, where you find parking and can hike towards Mörrum. Or you can arrive by train to Mörrum station. Here is Mörrum's Kronolax fishing, the mecca of anglers. Makes a perfect stop to visit both their historic exhibition. Continue the walk along the Mörrumsån. When you get to Svängsta, it's good to fill up with water and get ready to plan your overnight stay. Otherwise you can take a buss back to Mörrum from there. Parts of the Laxaleden run parallel to the Blekingeleden and ARK56 and there are wind shelters in Åkeholm and a barbecue area further up in Härnäs. End your stage up in the historic district at Ebbamåla Bruk.
