Read more about the stage

From Dala-Floda church, the trail leads away from the community, past a grocery store and out across fields before leaving the settlement. The trail then follows a path in the forest, but those who wish can follow the gravel road along Flosjön to Sandviken, where the trail comes down to the road. If it's summer and hot, a swim might be tempting down at the bathing area.

From Sandviken, it leads north towards lake Sången on larger paths. Partly along the exciting Sångån, a river where there has been great activity with dams, mills and rafting. Despite the fact that the river has been relatively heavily affected by human activity, it has high natural values with interesting species. As the path here is also a cycle path, you may meet one or another cyclist. At the Sångdammen there is a shelter to take a rest in.

At Sången's northern shore there is a fine sandy beach and good swimming opportunities. Take the opportunity to take a swim before the uphill to the Ljusbodarna cabin where you can stay overnight. The trail continues along a gravel road almost all the way up to Ljusbodarna.

Walk in the footsteps of the pilgrims

Romboleden (Rombo Way) is a pilgrimage route that people began using in the 11th century. The Romboleden is Sweden’s longest pilgrimage route at 900 kilometres long. It starts in Köping in Västmanland and finishes in Trondheim on the Norwegian Atlantic coast. If you walk the entire trail, you will experience a beautiful and varied landscape. You will walk on old chalet paths, over mountains with magnificent vistas and along narrow country gravel roads. You will find easy one-day walks with cafés along the way, and long treks that take several days. The route often passes through small villages.

Would you like to walk with a Pilgrim’s Passport and collect stamps from each stage? The medieval Pilgrim’s Passport allowed a pilgrim to walk in the whole of Europe without being stopped by rules or boundaries. These days it is just a nice memento. The Pilgrim’s Passport can be collected at several stage starting points and from the web page of Rombo Way.
